Babcock & Wilcox Enterprises (B&W) has signed a teaming agreement with gas treatment specialist Newpoint Gas to act as a foundational technology partner. It will provide advanced hydrogen generation, decarbonisation and combustion technologies for the redevelopment of the former US Department of Energy Portsmouth Gaseous Diffusion plant site near Piketon in Ohio, US.
B&W will supply its “BrightLoop” technology to produce hydrogen and isolate carbon dioxide for storage and will supply a steam generator utilising the company’s “BrightGen” hydrogen combustion technology to produce clean, near-zero emissions energy.
